The seminar commenced with an opening message from Capt. Ogura, General Manager at MOL Headquarters.
He stressed the importance of a proactive safety mindset in response to potential safety issues arising from MOL’s expansion and introduced the One MOL initiative, aimed at unifying management systems across Europe, Asia, and Japan to enhance operational consistency and safety oversight.
▲ Update of WRH5 Onboard Labor Management System – Ryo NISHIDA
Mr. Nishida of the Crewing Team, introduced the major updates to the Working & Rest Hour system (WRH5), highlighting reduced non-conformities, enhanced visualization, integrated regulatory coverage, and improved security and processing speed.
▲ GCU Operation & Lifeboat Safety – PARK YOUNG JIN
Supervisor Mr. Park of MOL LNG Ship Management Singapore, provided an overview of the GCU system, analyzed recent incidents, and emphasized OJT training.
He also discussed lifeboat safety precautions and the importance of adhering to internal procedures.

Mr. Osamura, HSEQ & Marine Superintendent, shared cases of over-speed berthing and lifeboat davit block failure, explaining their causes and stressing preventive inspections and careful response.
▲ Mental Health Awareness – CHU WENDY
Ms. Wendy Chu, Manager of the Seafarer Division, addressed mental health at sea, highlighting stress, isolation, and sleep issues, and introduced a step-by-step self-check method for early recognition and management.
▲ Appraisal & Promotion – IVAN IP
Mr. Ivan Ip, General Manager of the Seafarer Division, detailed MOL’s appraisal and promotion system, explaining its objectives, promotion criteria, fair evaluation process, and the rationale behind the double-riding period before promotion.
▲ CBT & Rank Step – Saki SEKINE
Ms. Sekine, Manning Superintendent, presented updates on Rank Step and CBT completion, stressing structured training and continuous monitoring to enhance crew competency.
▲ Safety, Health & Compliance 2025 – Daisuke FUJITSUKA
Mr. Fujitsuka, Marine Manager, gave a presentation on Safety, Health, Compliance, and Points of Concern in 2025.
▲ Safety Issues & Inspection Trends – KIM DAEGYEOM
Mr. Kim Daegyeom, Owner Inspector from Dongji Maritime shared frequent findings from Owner’s Inspections, analyzed their root causes, and presented preventive actions to avoid recurrence.
▲ Closing Messages – TSUNASHIMA & SHIMOKAWA
Mr. Tsunashima, President of MOL LNG Transport Co., Ltd. (Japan), underlined the value of safety culture and close cooperation with Dongji Maritime.
▲ Mr. Shimokawa, President & CEO of MOL LNG Ship Management Singapore, expressed his expectation for greater opportunities for Korean seafarers as MOL Singapore’s managed fleet continues to expand.

The seminar concluded with a certificate presentation ceremony, where each management president presented certificates to deck and engine officers.
