During the debriefing, MOL seafarers and shore employees gathered to share key operational updates and discuss major issues and improvement points across departments. Participants also reviewed recent industry trends and important safety management matters, while exchanging ideas on strengthening cooperation for safer and more efficient vessel operations.
In particular, the session provided an opportunity to enhance mutual understanding through the sharing of practical experiences and case studies, reaffirming the importance of smooth communication and collaboration between sea-going and shore-based personnel.
Alcohol Policy and Safety Management Training_Executive Director Jaeyoung Shin
Key policies and management standards regarding onboard alcohol regulations were shared during the session.
In particular, it was emphasized that alcohol-related violations are subject to the One Strike, One Out principle, and that strict compliance is required as the matter is managed very rigorously by the ship owner.
Marine Department Announcements_Miju Kim (Manning SI), Yujin Cho
Information regarding the JISS Japanese license, MOL training schedules, and newly introduced training courses was provided. Guidance on certificate management and preparation of essential boarding documents, including passports, was also shared.
In addition, announcements regarding crew change procedures, grievance handling procedures, ETO-related matters, and the company’s annual schedule were introduced.
Latest SSCS Trends and Key Updates_Superintendent Lim Yeji
Updates on the current status and recent changes to the Ship-Shore Compatibility Study (SSCS) for MOL LNG vessels were shared. Based on actual operational cases, key review points and practical directions during SSCS processes were also introduced.
Sharing of Major Owner’s Inspection Cases _ Owner Inspector Seo Choongwon
Major findings and safety risk factors identified during recent Owner’s Inspections were shared based on actual inspection cases.
Through these examples, the importance of preventing similar cases and further strengthening vessel safety management was emphasized.
