SSCS 2025~2026 Reporting

SSC departmnet Mr. Kim delivered a presentation titled “Ship-Shore Compatibility Study (SSCS) Overview.” They introduced the SSCS team’s process for developing the Compatibility List and conducting Optimoor-based mooring study analyses, and they outlined the overall review workflow used to ensure safe vessel operations and compatibility between ships and terminals. They also emphasized that safe berthing and cargo operations require close collaboration and clear, effective communication among seafarers, the SSCS team, shipowners, terminals, and charterers.

Inspector Mr. Kim explained the purpose of the ship inspection team that conducts shipowner inspections, along with the clear regulations and grounds for the findings. They also shared seafarer management measures, sharing examples of major findings that have occurred recently.
Human Element & Operational Impact

HSEQ Team’s Saxena san introduced company-level systems and an efficient management framework designed to maximize human performance from a human-resources management perspective. They also explained key points from various types of inspections that affect the human element and shared guidance on how seafarers should respond to SIRE inspections.

Manning SI Ms. Kim shared the current status of seafarers’ CBT training completion and emphasized the importance of completing CBT training, as it is linked to promotions. They also held a Q&A session related to CBT.
Building “OUR” Team

GSM SFD Ms. Wendy emphasized the importance of teamwork behaviors and shared ways for a team to stabilize quickly even in an environment with frequent crew changes. They also explained that, since people of diverse nationalities, genders, and age groups work together, respectful communication and an inclusive attitude form the foundation of safety and performance. In addition, they introduced the concept of “Just Culture” within the SMS and summarized key factors for improving onboard relationships, along with practical points for building a “good team.”
The Human Element: The Importance of Effective Communication

Department head Ivan san in SFD of GSM emphasized the importance of communication, sharing examples that show what “true communication” really means—going beyond simply being good at speaking and listening.
Ivan san ran a mobile-app quiz during the final part of the presentation, once again reminding the seafarers of the key items they must be sure to understand.
