JOB INTERVIEW
Q1. Please introduce the team's scope of work.
The Maritime Affairs Team oversees liquefied gas carrier crew management, systematically managing maritime personnel's recruitment, training, boarding, evaluation, and rotation.
We ensure crew competency development and safe operations based on international regulations (such as STCW) and shipowners' enhanced requirements.
Our role includes officer recruitment, qualification and training management, collaboration with domestic and international educational institutions, operating shipowner reporting systems, and helping crew members board without issues while complying with international regulations.
Q2. What work competencies are required to work in this team?
Above all, global communication skills are most important, as we collaborate with various partners including foreign shipowners, superintendents, and educational institutions. Understanding international regulations and problem-solving abilities are also essential.
Additionally, close communication with domestic crew members is very important in the Maritime Affairs Team's work.
The ability to understand individual crew members' situations and characteristics, listen to voices from the field, and provide appropriate support is necessary.
It's a significant responsibility to serve as a bridge of trust between crew members and the company, beyond simply handling administrative procedures.
Q3. What is the team atmosphere like?
The Maritime Affairs Team has a systematic yet collaborative atmosphere. Although emergencies occur due to the nature of the work, the entire team flexibly responds to solve problems.
This provides many learning opportunities and chances to grow through international work experience.
There's also a well-established culture of sharing experiences between seniors and juniors, allowing newcomers to adapt quickly.
I would say it's a busy but rewarding team where you can develop both expertise and a global perspective simultaneously.
