Superintendent
The Superintendent is dispatched to work for Japan's MOL LNG Transport and Singapore's MOL Global Ship Management, supervising LNG vessel operations, technical management, and safety & quality (SQ) areas. They ensure operational safety and efficiency, secure the reliability of mechanical and engine equipment, and support the proper implementation of safety and quality management according to international regulations and company standards at the field level.
Through these efforts, they provide the foundation for MOL LNG vessels to operate reliably throughout the world.
KEY TASKS
Ship Operations
- Managing safe operation of LNG vessels and schedule coordination
- Efficient management of operational costs including fuel and port usage
- Review of international port regulations and operational constraints
Technical Management
- Inspection and management of engine and mechanical equipment
- Establishment of maintenance and repair plans, and cooperation with Ship Management
- Ensuring reliability and cost-effective maintenance of vessel equipment
Health, Safety, Environment & Quality
- Verification of compliance with international regulations such as SOLAS, MARPOL, and company SMS standards
- Inspection of vessel safety, environmental, and quality management systems
REQUIRED SKILLS
- LNG vessel sailing experience – Practical experience in overall LNG operations, maintenance, and safety management
- Knowledge of international regulations and LNG operations – Understanding of regulations such as SOLAS, MARPOL, and LNG vessel characteristics
- Problem-solving ability – Analysis of various issues occurring in operations and maintenance fields and suggestion of improvements
- Global communication capability – Ability to collaborate effectively with overseas Ship Management, charterers, and multinational crew
- Responsibility and adaptability – Sense of responsibility as a vessel supervisor and adaptability to overseas work and living environments
